I installed Vista beta and set up the network. If I go into the settings and try to change them to home network and have a group name other than WORKGROUP, the setting for network type changes back to business use. This is highly reproducible. If you set the network to home, the workgroup name changes to WORKGROUP. If you change the workgroup name, then the network type changes to business.
